LLF rescinds Alice Dreger's nomination for Galileo's Middle Finger

As reported by Ophelia Benson, the board of Lamda Literary stated in an email to trans advocates opposed to the nomination:
After thoughtful, serious, and full consideration, Lambda Literary has rescinded the nomination of Galileo’s Middle Finger: Heretics, Activists, and the Search for Justice in Science from the LGBT Nonfiction category of the 2016 Lammys.
I've read the book. It's expertly researched and written, though definitely polemic. It puzzles me why it was nominated in the first place, as it criticizes much of the current trans politics. If you're organization is ideological, let it be ideological. There are other pro-trans books published in 2015 that better fit their narrative. (I'm reading one right now in fact.) My issue is with deeming books "unsuitable" because they fail to fall lockstep.
