This is becoming increasingly common within leftist circles.
Personally, I like to call what the poster calls "New Left" the "activist left," just to make a clean distinction between liberalism and it. It's okay not to fall lockstep with any particular ideology, but I understand wanting a label, particularly in environments that like to slot people into groups.
