Sometimes it isn't

I wish I didn't have to include several caveats, because I think this is a really good post about listening, not only to your child but your own good reason. The truth is that most gender non-conforming kids don't grow up to be trans (myself included), and there is a risk of jumping on the bandwagon and assuming every behavior that isn't inline with one's birth gender must be a sign of being transgender. And you should be able to say that without denying the reality that some kids truly are suffering in their own bodies.
