A few years ago, an online buddy sent me a cd with Mary Margaret O'Hara's "Body's In Trouble." I'd long known of this song's existence without actually hearing it until then. A decade or so ago, in Simon Reynold's book, The Sex Revolts: Gender, Rebellion, and Rock 'n' Roll, in a chapter named for it, O'Hara is quoted: "my body moves terribly weird... We got fired, our old band, we lost jobs, 'cause of the way I moved..." During the making of the video, she found it impossible to lip-synch to the song.
Needless to say, that intrigued me, and I probably built up this image of a wailing, flailing, proto-Tori. Um, no. But I finally found the video, and it is rather haunting.
