Bitch's b-sides blog just hipped me to this site: 90sWoman.com I entered my teens in the late 80s, but always considered myself a true child of the 90s. (This quiz erases any doubt.)
Although when it was happening, I didn't really like much of the music of the 90s. It all seemed so inherently masculine, even when it was preaching equality. Yeah, Kurt was a feminist. So was -- is -- Henry Rollins, but that wasn't enough to draw me to their music. That's why bands like Sleater-Kinney, Bikini Kill, and the like were so important then. Call me a cliche.
