Comedian Kate McKinnon becomes SNL's first openly lesbian cast member

It's not sure whether this is a one-off gig or she'll become a regular cast member, but I'm hopping she stays on for a while. SNL, which has long been a guy's club, has had some amazing women writers, producers, and actors during the past decade who've successfully transitioned to movies (which, let's face it, SNL has a poor track record with its starts becoming movie actors).

Here's Kate in the web series Vag Magazine. (You guys out there -- myself included -- who came of age reading the trifecta of Bitch, Bust and Venus, this is for you.)
