What I need

A book about writing that's more about the logistics of writing that a lot of hand-holding. I know I quote Anne Lamott a lot, and I love Bird by Bird, but the market for those kinds of writing guides, the ones that tell you to "just hang in there kid," seems to be more lucrative than the ones that, well, teach you how to write. I'm in the minority on this one: I think writing can be taught. You can take someone with not the most original idea, and show teach them narrative and structure -- and those are really important writer-ly things. I don't need self-esteem. I need a plan.
