• My Camp NaNo Ed-Mo is going more smoothly than I had anticipated. I wrote a couple longer scenes/fleshed out existing ones, which has been an issue of mine since forever. (Going as far back as college I've had people tell me I need to flesh out my writing more -- even reading my blog it's pretty obvious terseness is my specialty). One scene I'm particularly proud of mixes vulgarity and vulnerability in a way I've always wanted to but never found an opportunity for. (Yes, that sounds pretentious as hell but I know no other way to put it. It's both gross and sweet.)
• I Write Like tells me I write like Gertrude Stein and Chuck Palahniuk. I'm not sure how I feel about that.
• Given the choice of Hillary Clinton and Jeb Bush or Hillary Clinton and Marco Rubio (or Scott Walker, Rand Paul, etc. etc.) I'd vote for her, but I'd like an actual choice. That the media has basically nominated her is frustrating, to say the least. (And really frustrating for the other possible democratic nominees who haven't thrown their hats into the ring yet.) Right now I'm interested in Bernie Sanders, Jill Stein from the Green party (if she runs), and libertarian Gary Johnson who's pretty far right of where I am, but I think shares a similar philosophy. Kind of a disparate cast of characters. Please someone, challenge Hillary!
• It's come to my attention that I need to open the comments more often. I don't so much anymore because I get so few of them it's kind of a non-issue, and when I have in the past, I've gotten my fair share of spam. I treat my blog as my blabbing into the either, getting my thoughts out (I'm old school like that). Twitter and Tumble have been more for interaction, but I've lost interest in both because of their self-censorious nature, the call-outs, the doxxing... (And that I'm old enough to be the mother of most SWJs.) Trial run. I'll open them on the bulleted posts for a while, see how it goes.
