The Ann Powers /Daphne Carr edited DeCapo Best Music Writing 2010 is in stores now, and it features some pretty amazing young writers: Michelle Tea writing about the Gossip for The Believer, Maura Johnston's Idolator piece on the Kayne West/Taylor Swift fiasco, Chicago Reader's Jessica Hopper on David Bazan, and Pitchfork's Nitsuh Abebe's story about "The Decline in Indie."
I don't usually read anthologies of music criticism, but this looks really good. I love that a lot of younger, lesser known writers were included, especially bloggers, who still aren't taken seriously enough.
