Not being a musician, nor a journalist, the only way I can truly approaching music writing is as a fan. It's feels selfish "claiming" something as my own, but that weird twilight between the 80s and 90s, I've felt, is "my generation": almost too young to be a child of the eighties, and a little to old to for 90s nostalgia. I'm still drawn to, especially, the music from the years between 1987-1993, and this record was a big part of that:
Are you out of the U.S.? I only ask because I've always thought of Cowboy Junkies as a sort of adult contemporary act rather than an indie act. Maybe it's because I recall them being rather popular in Canada, and I've run into a few instances where groups that are huge here are considered indie outside of Canada.
