The "Rock She Writes" Bookshelf

I hope I haven't posted this before (it feels very familiar), but I've been updating my list of music criticism written by women, and moved it on over to Goodreads which is, frankly, a lot easier than Google.

I like what I have so far, though I've included a some choices that might seem controversial. (Like Gina Arnold's 666: On the Route to Nirvana, which has managed to garner a lot of bad press in the decade-and-a-half since its release. I still think it's a great snapshot of the era leading up to Nirvana's commercial breakthrough.) As always, suggestions are welcome.

  1. You need to see Out of the Vinyl Deeps, the forthcoming collection of Ellen Willis's writing on rock. She was the first, and one of the very, very best.
