Rewind: Scissor Sisters - S/T

For far too long, I wrote the Scissor Sisters off as some sort of retread disco and nothing more. In fact, the first time I heard "i Don't Feel Like Dancing" (from a later album, Ta-Dah), I could have sworn it was Barry Gibb singing, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but in the early 00s when garage rock was supposed to be making a comeback, and things were supposed to be "gritty" and "real," was there really a market for cheeky, fun, vaguely self-conscious dance music? Yeah, I totally blew that call.
