Shelving: Riki Wilchins - Queer Theory, Gender Theory

I've been looking for a queer theory 101 of sorts I could recommend with confidence: something less Butler-esque and dense, and not an anthology of coming out stories. (Not that those don't have their place, but overwhelmingly the writing tends to be scattershot,) And easy to find in most medium-sized libraries. Public libraries, while fantastic resources, don't always do so well with LGBT stuff. I'm pretty sure mine has more written books by Ann Coulter than in their entire gay, lesbian, and transgender section. Riki Wilchins's Queer Theory, Gender Theory is one of the best I've found so far. It's easy to read -- even the breaking down of Derrida and Foucault and how the contributed to modern queer theory -- and accessible.
