NFL Scouts Asking Draft Prospects About Their Sexual Orientation

This doesn't really shock me, but it's so wrong on so many levels. Pro Football Talk's Mike Florio (via Out Sports )
It’s more than weird. It’s troubling. While on one hand teams try to throw players off the prepared answers that make them seem as complex as a cardboard cutout, on the other hand that effort should be undertaken without touching on inappropriate subject matter. The league should be troubled, too. And the league should contact [Colorado tight end Nick] Kasa immediately, with a very specific follow-up question: “Which team(s) asked you that?”
I can't foresee a time when a player in any of the four major sports can be openly, though a few have come out post retirement. And while a number of players support gay marriage and LGBT rights, this just ads to the atmosphere of covert (and overt, for that matter) homophobia that has permeated pro sports since, oh, forever.
