Camp NaNo: Day One

As of writing, Camp has yet to start, but I'm already ahead in that I'm taking something old (a short story that's too similar to another, better, short story of mine) and making it new and, I hope, better. One pratfall I'm trying to avoid this time around is over-researching. I don't nearly have to do so much "pre-writing," and yet when I don't, I feel as if I'm slacking. I've all but stopped, and my outline had remained untouched for the past few days. I have a habit of "picking" -- micro-editing before I even start writing, and it's a hard one to break.
