Favorite Things Right Now

(aka, a lazy NaNoWriMo post)

Given that this is NaNo month, it's easy to abandoned my blog. Plus, the politics usually reserved for this site is creeping into my story (even in places where it shouldn't), making writing about misogyny for real feel like a chore. So here's a list-y thing:

David Byrne's How Music Works
I've been skimming though this when I'm not writing. This is a great book about the business of creating, performing  and selling music. Particularly informative is how he breaks down the corporate end of things, something fans rarely get and inside look at.

MAC Cosmetics now selling pro products on its website.
You could always buy MAC's pro shades even if you weren't a makeup artist, but you had to procure a phone number and order old-school. Now they're available online. Highly recommended are the super-pigmented blushes like Apple Red and Salsarose, and their Full Coverage Makeup, which is basically a large pot of their Studio Finish Concealer. It's a better price per ounce, and there are a few more colors for very pale, olive, and very dark skin that aren't part of the regular line. (Those of you who speak MAC, I'm roughly a W15, no N, and the W10 works great as an undereye concealer or highlighter,) There's also a bright white shade for, I dunno, mines or something.

Cats n Cats
Who rule the world? Cats do.
